Rally Confirmed! - UPDATED

Published by Laura at 12:00 pm under General

Just got word from Steve that the permit for the rally is approved - Monday, July 7, from 2 to 4pm on the Capitol steps. Because of LegeWatch reader requests, we’re checking into the idea of a march from the capitol to the Governor’s mansion.

Please let us know if you’re attending, if you need transportation or you can help arrange transportation for your city.

We are working to organize charter buses to help people get to the rally, but we need to hear from you ASAP on that. Whether or not you need help with transportation, please fill out the form to give us some idea how many people to expect.

If you represent a group or organization who is attending, please email admin@legewatch.com - we need to hear from you ASAP.

Thanks!

Great news….yes, yes, yes, to a march to the house of jindal!! Without a veto of SB672, his chances of living there after this term are slim to nothing….

We are working in North LA to get some people ready to come down. Governor Jindal will be in Shreveport today and we hope some people will be coming with protest signs. Thanks to everyone for putting this BR rally together.

Where is he going to be in Shreveport?

    Remember to bring essentials.

    Full tank of gas
    Umbrella
    bottled water

Patience, you may have to park far away and walk. It’s important enough no matter what inconvenience it causes.

PASS THE WORD TO EVERY RADIO, NEWSPAPER, ETC……

I was informed of parking available along River Road in downtown Baton Rouge. There is also a casino nearby where parking may be available. Of course, there is street parking but I anticipate that to be a one in a million chance.

Saveourstate, looks like ya’ll made the news in shreveport harassing Jindal. Kudos to the taxpayer/protestor with the “knife in the back shirt”. That’s a good one. Pics are on The Dead Pelican.

The “March to the Mansion” idea is a good one.

LaBruzzo is calling for a veto of SB672. The plot thickens…!!!

    Extortion
1: the act or practice of extorting especially money or other property; especially : the offense committed by an official engaging in such practice.

Now the governor (notice the small g since he does not deserve respect) says that in order to make sure his reform legislation happens he must allow the legislature to extort a pay raise from us. In other words to end corruption he must condone corruption…and I thought the old Heller novel “Catch 22″ contained the ultimate in irony!!!

Hooray for petitions filed to recall Representatives Franklin Foil (Baton Rouge) and Steven Pugh (Tangipahoa Parish)! The Secretary of State’s Office says that more than THIRTY recall petition packets have been requested. Let’s keep this going!!! It’s good to see voters in Louisiana taking a stand, and saying they WILL NOT put up with unethical lawmakers anymore!

    We are preparing our signs.
    ONE WHICH WE LOVE is:

    NO VETO
    NO VOTE

    Another one:

    GAS-$4 a gallon
    Lobby Meals-$50

Post Katrina when everyone was writing hateful messages about Tom Benson on their refrigerators sitting outside of their gutted homes because he wanted to move the Saints to San Antonio…I kept screaming at the TV,,,”Tom, this is your chance to be a hero…just do the RIGHT thing”. He had the opportunity to become one of the most beloved leaders in the history of Louisiana just by restoring “our” football team back to the people.

Now, I am screaming at the TV “Bobby, this is your chance to be the hero for the people of Louisiana and write your own place in history as a “beloved” leader who kept his promises to the PEOPLE.

Bobby, I don’t know who is advising you to keep your word to our so called legislature instead of the word you gave to the people of Louisiana…you know the little guys that cast their vote for you…but you are listening to the WRONG people.

Please keep your word to the people of Louisiana and veto Senate Bill 672. It is the right thing to do and you will become “our” hero.
