Credit Where It’s Due

Credit where it’s due - evidently State Representative Robert E. Billiot was up front about his expectations, and also made his ignorance of our state constitution, or his willingness to defy it, crystal clear to voters during the election. Kudos for that much, at least. He’s also being very upfront about his willingness to blow money on junkets instead of simply making phone calls to the Insurance Commissioners of other states.

Added: to be clear - while we certainly appreciate his honesty there are several major problems here - first, his arrogance in just carving out the job he thinks he should have, and not the one mandated by law.  Second, Louisiana does not want or need a full time political class.  They have time for nonsense like state cocktail laws and baseball games on the job; this is clearly not a full time job.
